Lonely Roads
"So this is it," I muttered softly.
The engine behind me started up, and my heart clenched.
Fifty or so miles that large car had driven and dumped me and my belongings out here.
I felt as if the middle of nowhere had sucked me up, and my only known route was this thin stretch of gravel road that large car had spat me out at the end of.
The tires began to pull away gently, but I whipped around, rushed over, and began banging on the passenger's seat window.  The driver lowered it and glanced at me.  I had never seen his eyes before this moment, and now I wish I never had for they were void of color.  The iris was black which gave the impression that his pupils were extremely large.
His gaze was hollow, and all I could care to look at were those eyes.
I had forgotten for a moment then studdered to regain thought before I finally asked, "What am I suppose to do?"  My female voice was dripping with self-pity whether I believed he would be affected by

Steal Away
A forgotten story,
A forgotten rhyme,
A forgotten life,
From another time.
Water-logged pages,
Sand-coated cracks,
Severed paragraphs,
We will never get back.
Thrown out in the open,
Thrown into the rain,
Down in the sand pits,
Forgotten again.
I pick up the thing,
One left behind,
Dust off the cover,
What do I find?
It is a book,
It is a mind,
It is a dream,
It is a find.
It is a path,
It is a thought,
And no longer,
Is it lost.
For I take it,
And I dry it,
And I clean it,
And I bind it.
And this once-forgotten life,
Is now mine, as it will stay,
And its name,
Is forever, Steal Away.

Quiet Lake Superior Revision
Quiet Lake Superior (Revision)
I came,
Racing down a grassy path,
To come to a lake,
So gentle,
So silent,
Where the sky melts,
And touches down,
To kiss the water,
Like one endless dimension,
So subtle and still,
I do not want to break the spell.
I find my rock,
My special white rock,
And sit upon its smooth bed,
To capture this peaceful moment in time.
Through my eyes, nothing could have be more heavenly,
Nor soothing.
This in my inner sanctuary, brought to life.
The loons call,
Their sweet, haunting melody,
Chanting through my heart,
And the playful splashes,
Upon this rocked bank,
When combined,
With the song of the seagulls,
And the brisk tweet of the songbirds,
Lake Superior, in Canada,
On the Kulibert property,
Could not be more,
Than the deep lullaby of nature.
